I remember years ago when my parents would drag me and my two sisters to church to listen to missionaries that just got back to Africa.  The newly arrived people would talk about their trip - but hey - there was something really cool about being at church.  They had slides - or pictures of their trip.  Now mind you, this was in the seventies and digital technology hadn’t taken off yet.  Still though, them flashing to those slides showing the beautiful continent of Africa with the exotic animals, waterfalls, and natives.  To us, it was so interesting.

I remember that the missionary would show slides through a slide projector that would display on a big screen that the church provided.  Each slide they would talk about for a couple minutes.  In later years, they added music in the background since the technology was advancing.   Almost to the movie stage I guess you can say. 

I know that back then, hundreds and perhaps thousands of churches across this nation was using slides.  I wonder where the slides are at now…I can just picture them in a box in a storage room.  I can only offer the anyone with tons of slides laying around (like a church).  Take them to a SLIDE SCANNING SERVICES.  Have the company CONVERT them to print or to digital images where they can store it on a CD.
